
Just how wide is the Sahara Desert? According to the map of Africa, the desert lies in Sudan, Chad, Niger, Mali, Mauritania, Egypt, Libya Tunisia, Algeria, and Morocco. Whoa! That makes this dry land formation occupy an astonishing 7,769,964 square kilometers of, well, sand area. No wonder, Sahara is the largest among the
large deserts in the world.
Not so long ago, I had the chance to visit Sudan. That was the very first time that I saw the boundaries of Sahara. My uncle dared me to climb the highest peak in Sudan. Only there will I be able to catch a glimpse of the panoramic view of this humungous desert. Nevertheless, the popularity of the desert has already produced countless movies, legends, novels, and even reality sows that feature Sahara. Until now, I even dream of traveling the desert from point to point, and discover just how astounding it is. I am pretty sure that there are
terrible sand storms in almost all parts of the desert. To think that it lies in ten African countries, and that each country is trying to appraise the piece of the desert that belongs to their territory, Sahara is real priceless. I am just glad that it is not yet spoiled. Of course, we cannot set aside the fact that traveling agencies will take advantage of promoting tours in this desert.
