Welcome to Hawaii. This place is paradise, really. Though Hawaii is not, in reality, a part of
North America, it is still considered as one of the jewels of America. The state is composed of 132 islets, most of these are uninhabited. The remaining eight islands, perhaps, were formed from the volcanic eruptions in Hawaii. Yes, although the state seemed floating in the ocean, it has, underneath it, volcanoes where lava continuously flow. This is the reason we see black sands in the beaches.
Now, among the eight, Hawaii island is the biggest of all the habitable ones. Its land area is 10,458 square miles. There are five active volcanoes in here. The other islands are Maui, Kaho`olawe, Moloka`i, Lana`i, O`ahu, Kaua`i, and Ni`ihau. All in all, the Hawaiian state occupies 28,313 square kilometers of land area, and seemingly endless water territories. Once, I went to Hawaii with my brother, and we decided to explore Hawaii. We bought our
family fishing boat with us.
There are more to Hawaii than coconut trees. Did you know that the Lanai island is owned by Dole, and produces the most number of pineapples in the world? Aside from the high peaks, there are waterfalls and cliffs all over Hawaii. I was just astonished to see the
beautiful landscapes formed by the lava flows.
