The Himalayan Dream

Many great men and women have changed mountain climbing world history with their successful assent to Mount Everest, the world's highest mountain. Mount Everest, dubbed as the stairway to heaven, proudly stands on Himalayan mountain range. Nepal is the proud home of this most imposing peak in the whole world.

Nepal is a small kingdom at about 147,181 square miles. Almost 80 percent of the country is covered by the Himalayan mountain range. That is why it is a popular spot for various mountain trek adventures. This mystic spiritual kingdom is divided by three geographical areas from the west to the east. The Terai has its border in the north while Ganges river borders the southern part.

Centrally located is the Mahabharat's chain of mountains with 2,000-3,000 meters altitude. The truth is, out of ten tallest mountains in the world, eight are located in the Himalayan ranges. These areas have cold weather conditions. The climate largely depends on the elevation ranging from monsoon to snow season, and prime weather for climbing to warm one in the lowlands. Kathmandu, the kingdom’s capital city has a sort of a steamy weather along with the Terai.
