Afghanistan in Central Asia is one of the world's poorest nations devastated by decades of political, civil, and military unrest and conflict. Such internal dissension paved the way for various social problems. Problems include lack of education, slow development,
few employment opportunities, and not enough income-generating industries among others.
Its neighboring country Pakistan holds a decade-long grudge due to border problem in the Durand Lines. It is interesting to note that Afghanistan voted against Pakistan seeking membership into the UN. Today, the predicament between these two nations is tolerable. As a matter of fact, Pakistan has been harboring refugees from Afghanistan for ages. Other countries followed suit. But, this gesture aggravated
immigration problems due to increasing numbers of illegal aliens from Afghanistan.
According to the secretary general of the UN, the crisis about refugees from Afghanistan is the greatest crisis in the whole world. Imagine, out of four refugees in the world, one is from Afghanistan. The country has been receiving humanitarian aids from the United Nations, the USA, and other wealthy nations. At present, the crisis of all sorts still exist in Afghanistan. The tentacles of terrorism have further divided this nation. Several terrorism attacks as well as trainings are linked to Afghanistan. The
Afghan crisis continues and shall reign unless the Afghans work together and start to build a peaceful and united Afghanistan.
