Besides Berlin, its other popular cities are Munich, Hanover, Hamburg, Nuremburg and Frankfurt. Its neighbor European countries include Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Poland and Switzerland. It is also nearby North Sea and Baltic Sea.

The German land's shape is elongated and irregular. Its inner and outer areas are filled with bodies of water. Pastures make up 17% of its land area, 37% are arable, and 30% are forests. The Alps can be found in the south of the country. They have plains that are good for farming, They also use the Rhine River to transport their goods from the north.
