When you think of traveling to Africa, usually, the more popular places come to mind. Usually, these include Madagascar, because of the cartoon flick, and now, Namibia, because of
actress Angelina Jolie. But there is more to Africa than just these places. The next time you're thinking of exploring, take my word for it and try Ghana.
Perhaps, Ghana is best suited for people who actually favor vegetarian diet because apart from Accra, Ghana's capital, there are few fast foods that serve burgers and stuff. Vegetables, fruits, and grains are the usual diet of the people of Ghana. Probably because livestock raising is not really a big thing in the country. However, don't be hesitant to try the local cuisine. I am a picky eater myself, but I ate my fill of their local flavors. I think it's wonderful that such simple food and preparation are rendered unforgettable flavors unlike most fast food fare that soaks up lots of salt and still end up tasting bland.
Need further convincing? Ghana has wonderful beaches; in fact,
Ghanaian coast is, by far, more relaxing than most overpriced resorts in the USA. The people are also genuinely warm and friendly. They have none of those fake, phony, and unnatural feel about them. In fact, you feel that they are genuinely interested in making you feel at home. It's hard for me to be fan of anything, but I'll make an exception for Ghana.
