When I say the most populated region in Queensland, Brisbane city is the instant answer of many tourists who have been to Australia. With over two million people residing in Brisbane, the Queensland region is a noted attraction and must-see city of Australia. Brisbane is located beside the Pacific Ocean and is situated on the Brisbane River. The name Brisbane is given in honor of Sir Thomas Brisbane. Brisbane is a city that originated from the harsh penal colony practiced by New South Wales in 1824.
With a latitude and longtitude of 27'28'S 153'02'E, Brisbane city is located in the southeast part of Queensland, Australia. The city of Brisbane is a low-lying floodplain region, so its area is generally susceptible to severe flooding. A number of its suburban creeks has an increasing risk of flood waters. The flood problems of the region can be traced back to the aftermath of the 1974 Brisbane flood.
The pleasant weather or climate of Brisbane that Queenslanders and tourists truly enjoy is more on winter sunshine and warmth, compared to other states of Australia. Brisbane offers a sub-tropical climate of a mild clear winters and warm humid summers. Summer season during the months of December to February, with an average temperature of 21-30 degrees Celsius. Winter season is during the months of June to August, with typical temperatures between 9- 22 degrees Celsius.

So what exactly is the thing that connects war and satellite technology? Well, as I was browsing the Internet the other day, I came upon an article that poses the question of why the United States aids Israel the means of satellite guided technology on the use of missile, while also providing food support to the Lebanon locals. Actually, the question would really caught your attention and would instantly make you think of a dam good answer. Besides, its all about the tricky connections of US in the war issues of other countries. Such basically answers my question.
Tuesday, May 8. 2007
I have mentioned that it was said that the US helped the Israel with satellite guided missile technology to its attack in Lebanon, while also showing great concern to the Lebanese people. The Americans clearly supports the bombing attack done by Israel and still insists on continuing with the advances. But US also wants peace for Lebanon. A questionable actions on the side of US and their reasons for sidings really smell foul. I also felt bad on the fact that technological advancements, such as the satellite technology, are used for harmful and selfish deeds of some group of people and even by some countries.
Monday, May 7. 2007
Part of the posted question I have read is whether the US acts fair on the part of Israel, as well as to other regions of the Middle East. Some of the views and attitudes shown in the post claim that whatever happens after the conflict between Israel and Lebanon, US would be the one coming out as a winner. It's all about money, power, and influence. I also believe that the actions imposed by America to help Israel with the use of satellite technology, while also supplying assistance to Lebanon is very self-contradictory.

In the ancient times, maps are among the most important navigation and geographical tools for our ancestors. As thousands of years go by, modern society regards maps as graphical representations of various spatial concepts, which are used to convey important geographical information. Regardless of culture or language, maps are appreciated and understood by many people of any race. Maps are very essential in today's geographical documentation and navigation necessities.

Only an idiot would not know that the art or craft of creating maps is called cartography. Incidetally, a preserved Babylon clay tablet is the oldest noted tablet in the world. The culmination of Roman and Greek cartography was during the period of Claudious Ptolemaeus. Ptolemy is well regarded for his world map, which featured the Old World latitudes. His famous work titled 'Guide to Geography" is still recognized today as the an essential reference for world geography.

Starting 17th century until today, maps turned into more factual and accurate references that apply certain scientific methods and techniques. As you have probably heard from latest news and world updates, there are many countries that applied national mapping systems in their geographical and navigation tools. Before the development of aerial photography after the WW II, people were then clueless on what the entire world was like. Thanks to the latest cartography and mapping developments, such as the handheld devices, the world's geographical features were made available to the modern man.

In this modern information age, anyone who gets lost in some foreign country or just about anywhere would seem to be a technophobic, or has been living under a damn rock all his life! Yes, 'cause there are now satellite images of every place on the planet. With this, service providers are continuously updating their databases for the latest satellite maps of the world. NAVTEQ, a leading supplier of satellite imagery, is now mapping almost the entire Eastern Europe region. Plus, the satellite maps are now available for general public viewing.
Wednesday, May 2. 2007
NAVTEQ is continuously providing vehicle navigation services through the satellite maps in their database. With this, the company has now added a lot more maps for this purpose. Yes, they now hold satellite maps of Eastern Europe. These satellite images cover the countries Albania, Bosnia, Macedonia, Herzegovina, Montenegro, and Serbia. Apart from these regions, NAVTEQ has a lot more satellite maps of Europe. The maps cover roads, railways, well-known establishments, and the like.
Tuesday, May 1. 2007
Satellite maps of the other regions of Europe which NAVTEQ has are Croatia, Bulgaria, Greece, Slovenia, and Romania. These maps hold vital navigation information such as roads, railways, establishments, and just about anything connected to topography and business. NAVTEQ is providing these maps to help people in their vehicular navigation purposes through these European regions. Plus, the company would also want their satellite maps to help educational institutions and scientific research facilities that conduct research on these regions of the planet.

Improvements are continuously being done on satellite technology. This is to provide the people of the world the advantages they could gain from it. With current developments on satellite mapping and handheld digital devices, people could now go around carrying a sort of a briefcase the size of the palms of their hands full of digital maps. But certainly, most of these maps need to get updated every once in a while. This is because of the ever-changing nature of topography. With this, GfK MACON releases a new Nepal map with quite a few improvements.
Sunday, April 29. 2007
The 2006 edition of the Nepal satellite map offers a new 3-number postal code mapping system. In addition, new layers of its topography have been made. With this, airports, lakes, elevated plains, and the like has also been added to the fray. City ports and points can now also be viewed with this satellite map from GfK MACON. This is because if there are things that are integral in satellite maps, it would always have to be roads, railways, establishments, as well as private and public institutions to be found within a country.
Saturday, April 28. 2007
GfK MACON, a leading provider of satellite mapping information, has released the 2006 edition of its Nepal digital map. Updates have been made on this map so as to answer the needs of people when it comes to the digital mapping of Nepal's topography. Elevated regions have been noted on this digital imagery for a map. The map also contains vital information on newly constructed buildings, railways, roads, and just about any structure that can't be seen on the prior version, or edition, of this Nepal satellite map. One key improvement on this new Nepal satellite map edition is the information it provides its viewers regarding the highlighted population denominations per region of Nepal.

In this modern digital age, information is the top aspect that most countries value. Not just countries, mind you, but each and every person on this planet, too. This is because having just the right information on anything could do wonders. With this, the government of Bangladesh has made plans on using satellite mapping technology so as to fight the corruption that is present on this country.
Thursday, April 26. 2007
I think the corruption in Bangladesh is so rampant you'd probably think Bill Gates isn't the richest man on the planet! Reports have shown that politicians here in Bangladesh carry out structural plans on this country just for a quick buck. Plus, they usually organize the projects that are useful just for their own purposes. This is why the government of this country, backed up by the support of its people, has thought of a good idea so as to fight the rampant corruption in this country.
Wednesday, April 25. 2007
With this, the government of Bangladesh has thought of using satellite mapping technology so as to fight the corruption in this country. Reports have stated that digital satellite images would provide this country's government the information it needs on its structural improvements. Government buildings, such as hospitals and schools, could now be built on the areas that actually need such facilities. Isn't this a damn good idea? I do hope we have something like that here, or in any country, that is.
Tuesday, April 24. 2007
Upon hearing of clearer and clearer satellite maps, I remember the movie "the Enemy of the State". Now, this flick portrays a modern information age similar to that which we live in, and how the governments of the world are capable of using such satellite technologies to actually monitor the activities of any person it well chooses to spy on. It's a good thing the clearest satellite maps are coming from an environmental organization named ESA. Thus, we're probably safe because this organization uses their Envisat satellite only for environmental purposes. Come to think of it, do they?
Monday, April 23. 2007
Yes, the ESA is now launching a project called GLOBCOVER. As the name suggests, this project seeks to produce satellite map images of the actual planet's surface with the highest resolution quality in the history of satellite mapping. These satellite maps are intended to increase the efficiency of our environmental scientists to do their work. Well, their job is to protect the environment, and they would need all the information they could get so as to either prevent any environmental damages, or predict natural disasters, right?
Sunday, April 22. 2007
The main goals of the ESA with the actual GLOBCOVER project can be summed up into three. First, the ESA plans to plot global land use hypes. It aims to study natural systems of the globe with the satellite maps its environmental satellite would be producing. Finally, the ESA plans to use the satellite maps to efficiently study climate changes, impacts, and extent. The organization is using state-of-the-fuckin'-art satellite technology for their ambitious project. But the people of ESA are expecting the outputs early next month.

Microsoft has been more of a household name in this modern information age. I think a global tag would be more appropriate to describe just how much this company has devoured the lives of the people on this damn planet! But now they're planning to launch the MSN Virtual Earth this summer, a mapping service, which uses satellite technology, for the internet viewers of the world. I just think they don't like competition when they see one, and they do consider stiff competition from the advent of the same mapping services from Google, Amazon, and Yahoo!.
Friday, April 20. 2007
The Microsoft Corporation has announced that they will be launching a mapping service, called MSN Virtual Earth, early this summer. People are thinking just how much difference this Microsoft service has from its competitors, and the company has a shitload of features not to be found on the other service providers. The advantages of the MSN Virtual Earth? Well, first, it houses tons of information on an area, such as the restaurants, moviehouses, laundry shops, etc. within its limits. It's absolutely free for Microsoft.net subscribers, and it has all this crapload of reviews, ratings, etc. on the areas it can access. Think of it as another step towards the ubiquitous society that I think Microsoft plans on pushing forward in the near future.

This most popular city port in Vietnam boasts of a rich cultural heritage as much as good people. Located more or less 50 miles from the vast South China Sea, it is actually on the beautiful Saigon River. This river is found on the wayward north of Mekong Delta. The bustling metropolitan area of this city has a lot of businesses to run each and every day due to its ties with the Cholon city, which is a city wherein all the industries of Vietnam operate.
Ho Chi Minh is far from an American's idea of a war-torn city that has never managed to heal its scars from that damn Vietnam War. This city now has a lot of high-rise buildings, shopping malls, and almost every bit of a business center imaginable to Western civilization. But it has still not yet lost its touch when it comes to defining its culture and history. This city is home to the country's leading universities, along with some of the best museums and historical monuments in Asia. Plus, you could even get a good hearty meal in some of those Vietnamese-run restaurants, wherein they serve some of the best Asian food I have ever tasted. No trace of those scars from war here whatsoever, except, of course, in those unseen hearts of those good Vietnamese people.
